People visiting South Birmingham College can now find out about access to buildings and facilities ahead of their trip thanks to a new free online guide. They can also find out if hearing loops are fitted in class rooms, the location of adapted toilets and how to get information in alternative formats. The guide has been compiled by DisabledGo, the UK’s foremost provider of disabled access information, with sponsorship from the College. Noreen Simpson, the College’s Director of Equality and Diversity, said: “We are absolutely delighted that each campus of the College now benefits from the DisabledGo online guide. “It helps increase student choice, improve student experience and reduce agitation and distress. It also increases student and staff awareness of disability.” Samantha Flaxman, of DisabledGo, added: “The aim of the guide is to provide detailed, accurate information so people can find out more about the access they will find when they come to visit the College.” For more information on the guide please contact Samantha Flaxman, Partnership Manager at DisabledGo by emailing: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
